While we are a very popular retirement community, we only have 2 designated retirement communities. Winterhaven, http://www.caddenmanagement.com/winterhavenhoa and Vista View, http://www.vistaviewresort.net
Both are equally nice, but yet totally different and appealing to a range of individuals. Each are designated as 55+ adult communities and are gated.
Winterhaven is on the higher end of the price range, generally, and has homes priced from the upper 100′s to the upper 300′s. There are 2 pools and 2 club houses on the grounds. Built by Castle and Cooke and developed around the Pueblo Del Sol Country Club and Golf Course, there are $75.00 per month association fees, and the covenents, codes and restrictions (CC&R’s) are known to be a little more stringent. Homes that are located on the Golf Course in the “Estate” side, have larger lots. There are plenty of reasonably priced homes to be found, most tend to be 2 bedroom with or with out a den, although you may find 3 bedrooms in the Estate side.
Vista View offers more moderatly priced homes from the low 100′s to the low 200′s. They have 1, 2, and 3 bedroom homes available, but smaller lots on leased land. This means your typical HOA fees are built in to the land lease, which is paid seperately and varies for each property. There is 1 pool and 1 clubhouse, and they have planned activities on a weekly basis. Vista View seems to be a closer knit community than Winterhaven, most likely because folks interact together and enjoy the planned activities. RV space rentals are availabe also within the ‘resort’.
